The petitioner had preferred this petition for challenging the order of the Returning Officer dated 24.01.2012 by which, his nomination form was rejected. He was also aggrieved by the order passed by the learned District Judge dated 31.01.2012 by which, the rejection of his nomination form was sustained.

By order dated 01.02.2012, the petitioner was granted interim relief in terms of prayer clauses "D" and "E" and he was permitted to contest the election.

The learned advocate for the petitioner submits that the petitioner contested the election, was elected and the present petition is now rendered infructuous as his term of five years has already expired in

In view of the above, this Writ Petition, being infructuous, stands disposed off. Rule is discharged.
