1) The application is filed for suspension of substantive sentence. Criminal Appeal No.114/2015 is already admitted. The appellant is convicted for offences punishable under section 7, 13(1)(d) read with 13(2) of the Prevention of Corruption Act, 1988. Maximum sentence of imprisonment of four years is given. Submission was made that during trial the appellant was on bail. Submission was also made that entire fine amount is paid.
2 Application 608/2015 2) In view of the reasoning given by the trial Court and the aforesaid circumstances, this Court holds that substantive sentence needs to be suspended. In the result, the application is allowed. Substantive sentence is suspended. The applicant/appellant is to be released on bail on his furnishing PR and SB of Rs.15,000/- (Rupees fifteen thousand only).
