The Petitioner seeks to challenge the order dated 23.07.1997 passed by the Assistant Provident Fund Commissioner in the Section 7-A enquiry as is provided under the Employees' Provident Fund and Miscellaneous Provisions Act, 1952. By the impugned order, the Petitioner was held liable to deposit an amount of Rs.2,11,712/- as in July, 1997 towards the arrears of provident fund contributions. While issuing notice and granting ad-interim relief in terms of prayer clause "C", by order dated 06.10.1997, this Court had ordered the Petitioner to deposit Rs.25,000/- within four weeks. The Registry of this Court reports that the said amount was never deposited by the Petitioner. It was not pointed out to this Court on

*2* 1wp3697o97 24.11.1997 when this petition was admitted, that the Petitioner has not deposited the said amount as directed earlier. Office remarks dated 20.11.2016 and 20.03.2018 indicate that the Petitioner has not engaged an advocate after the earlier Advocate has passed away.

Considering the above, I do not find it appropriate to entertain this petition. This Writ Petition is, therefore, dismissed. Rule is discharged.
