PER COURT The petitioners claim to belong to Mannervarlu, Koli Mahadev & Thakur scheduled tribes (ST). They have secured admission to MBBS course, as against seats earmarked for the aforesaid category. The tribe certificates issued to the petitioners are referred for verification to the scrutiny committee and proposals are stated to be pending. In the meanwhile the Dean of the Colleges has called upon the petitioners to submit validation certificates within specified period and they have been further warned that, in the event of their failure, they will not be permitted to appear for the examination.
In these facts of the case, these petitions can be disposed of by issuing directions to the respondent scrutiny committee to take decision on the tribe certificate verification proposals in respect of the petitioners as expeditiously as possible and preferably within eight months from today and it is accordingly directed. In the meanwhile, respondent Colleges & Universities are directed to permit the petitioners to prosecute further studies and to appear for university examination, subject however, to the
{4} decision in respect of the tribe verification proposals pending with the scrutiny committee.
