In view of the submission of Mr. Malte, the learned Advocate representing Respondent Nos. 2 and 3 - Company, the learned Advocate for the Petitioner concedes that on the one hand, the Petitioner is seeking compensation in view of the erection of the MSEB DP Transformer on his land and, on the other hand, he has consumed electricity from the same Transformer. He concedes that the bills have not been paid. Mr. Malte points out that as in December 2024, the outstanding amount is approximately Rs. 60,000/-.

The learned Advocate for the Petitioner submits that the Petitioner would approach the Competent Authority which is the District Collector, Nanded for seeking compensation in the light of the provisions of the Indian Telegraph Act and The Electricity Act. 3.

Let such claim be tendered within 30 days. After such claim is lodged, the District Collector, Nanded, would deal with the same as expeditiously as possible and preferably within a period of 120 days. In doing so, he will also adjust the outstanding electricity consumption bill payable by the Petitioner, by setting it off with the compensation amount that may be payable to him. Needless to state, if he is held eligible for the compensation, the interest component would also be taken care of. 4.
