THE STATE OF MAHARASHTRA AND OTHERS ...

CORAM : R. M. BORDE & K. K. SONAWANE, JJ.

Date: August 20, 2016 ...

PER COURT :- It is recorded in the affidavit in reply presented by the answering respondents that, the proposals for award of scholarship to the students belonging to the families engaged for uncleaned profession, were considered and 31 students are found eligible. The proposal for awarding scholarship to 31 students was forwarded and such of those students, who are found to be eligible have also been granted scholarship. So far as the ineligible students are concerned, their claims have been denied. Since the respondents have already taken steps in accordance with Policy prescribed by the Government, the grievance raised by the petitioner, in the instant petition does not deserve consideration.

In case of any grievance in respect of students, who are found to be ineligible, aggrieved student or parent may approach this Court and appropriate considerations can be applied. It is informed that the wards of the petitioner have also been benefited under the Policy prescribed by the State Government. The petition is moved in the individual capacity. Since the grievance appears to have been redressed, no interference is called for.

The petition is disposed of.
