DATE : 23/06/2017 PER COURT :- 1] We have heard advocates for the respondents. We perused this Public Interest Litigation seeking direction to provide drinking water. We do not think that we are equipped to determine as to whether a dam has enough storage capacity and to supply drinking water to the areas under its coverage. These are matters to be determined by the authorities who are incharge of supply of drinking water. It is they who administer and manage the affairs in relation thereto. It is they who would be able to redress the grievance and beyond asking them to look into the same, this Court can't do anything further. From the affidavit in reply filed, we are of the opinion that these authorities can indeed look into the grievance of the villagers. In such circumstances, Public Interest Litigation is disposed of.
