The possession of the land has been taken on 01.07.2005. The award under the Land Acquisition Act, 1894 has lapsed. A fresh proposal, clearly indicating that acquisition proceedings under the Right to Fair Compensation and Transparency in Land Acquisition, Rehabilitation and Resettlement Act, 2013 have to be initiated, is pending with the District Collector, Beed since 27.04.2021.

In view of the above, this Writ Petition is disposed off with a direction to the District Collector, Beed to initiate steps within 60 days, on the said pending proposal. The acquisition proceeding shall be completed within one year as is prescribed under the 2013 Act. If our order is not complied with and if there is an occasion for the Petitioner to file a Contempt Petition, we would view the conduct of the erring officers, seriously. [Y.G.
