The applicant has been convicted for the offence punishable under Section 7 and under Sections 13(1)(d) punishable under Section 13(2) of the Prevention of Corruption Act, 1988 and sentenced to suffer rigorous imprisonment for four years and pay fine of Rs.50,000/-, in default, to suffer simple imprisonment for two months. He was on bail pending the trial. The appeal is not likely to come up for hearing in near future. The execution of substantive sentence of imprisonment to stand suspended, pending the appeal.
