The petitioners are claiming rental compensation pursuant to compulsory acquisition of their lands under the Right to Fair Compensation and Transparency in Land Acquisition, Rehabilitation and Resettlement Act, 2013 and passing of award dated 22.8.2016. 2.

It appears that the petitioners are relying upon the Government Resolution dated 24.3.1988 for claiming rental compensation. They had submitted application with the office of the Tahsildar, Kaij on 3.5.2017 and even with the office of the Deputy Collector, Rehabilitation, Ambejogai on 15.2.2014. 3.

We dispose of the writ petition directing the respondent - Tahsildar, Kaij to decide the petitioners' claim on the basis of application received by his office on 3.5.2017. If the copy of the application is not available with his office, the petitioner may provide it to that office.
