We have heard both the sides.

The petitioners in all these petitions are retired teachers, who were engaged in the schools run by respondent No.5 / Municipal Corporation. They are awaiting for processing of their pension papers.

It is being pointed out that the petitioners have been made to run from pillar to post. As per the practice that was prevalent and perhaps in accordance with the GR dated 14.02.1980, the pension papers were completed by the Corporation and submitted to the Office of respondent No.4 / Deputy Director of Education. 4.
By the impugned communication, he returned the papers addressing a letter to respondent No.5 / Commissioner as also the Education Officer, Latur dated 10.07.2023 by referring to the GR dated 20.04.1993 for processing and forwarding the pension papers directly to the AG Office and not through his office.

For the time being, we are merely concerned with the fact that subsequent to the impugned communication by the letter dated 18.12.2024, Exh.D, the Municipal Corporation has forwarded all the pension papers to the Office of respondent No.4 / Deputy Director of Education by making necessary compliance and further adverting his attention to the practice that was being followed pursuant to the GR dated 14.02.1980 and further pointing out that the GR dated 20.04.1993 does not prescribe any modalities.

The writ petition is disposed of with a direction to respondent No.4 to consider and take appropriate decision on this communication dated 18.12.2024 Exh.D, as expeditiously as possible and in accordance with law, but in any case within 4 weeks. ( PRAFULLA S. KHUBALKAR, J.) ( MANGESH S. PATIL, J.)
