This is a peculiar case of a young girl student, being forced to rush to this Court for seeking disbursement of her monthly

(2) scholarship, after having appeared and cleared the Notional Means Cum Merit Scholarship (NMMS Scholarship) programme. 3.

The petitioner resides along with her guardian, who is her uncle. She is a minor and lost her father at a very tender age. She was entitled for the scholarship from the academic year 20202021 on-wards, for a period of four years @ Rs.1,000/- per month.

It is undisputed, rather conceded that, respondent No.5 - School, forwarded the proposal of the petitioner with a wrong name. Her name is Tanvi Kishor Bhalerao. The proposal sent was Tanivi Kishwar Bhalerao. On account of this mistake committed by the School, a hapless student is made to run from pillar to post for seeking scholarship, and that too, for a meager amount of Rs.1,000/- p.m. Finally, the said name was corrected by the School and forwarded to the Joint Director of Education, (Secondary and Higher Secondary), Maharashtra State, Pune. In turn, the said authority conveyed to respondent No.6, vide communication dated 11/03/2022. Even at the end of respondent No.6, the proposal is still in cold storage.

In view of the above, this petition is allowed. We direct respondent No.6, to pass an appropriate order and commence the monthly payment of the scholarship of the petitioner from the month of December 2022. All arrears of the petitioner from the date of her eligibility, shall be calculated and paid to her, on or before 30/01/2023. We are imposing costs of Rs.10,000/- (Rs. Ten Thousand) on respondent No.5 /School, to be paid from the account of the Education Society, which operates the said School, directly to the petitioner through her guardian Shri. Rajendra Kacharu Bhalerao, on or before 15/12/2022 and a copy of the acknowledgment of receiving the costs amount, shall be deposited in this Court, on or before 05/01/2023.
