Mr. Shermale, learned counsel for the petitioner submits that the post of Sarpanch of the Grampanchayat Velhale is reserved for S.C. (women) category, but there is no S.C (woman) candidate. 2.

The learned A.G. P. submits that in absence of any S.C (women) candidate, Rule 4-A of the Maharashtra Village Panchayat (Sarpanch and Upa-Sarpanch) Election Rules, 1964 would be adhered to.

in the light of that, the writ petition is disposed of. 4.

Needless to state, in case, S.C (woman) candidate is not available, then the respondents will have to adhere to Rule 4-A of the Rules, 1964 and its proviso.
