Mr. Tope, the learned counsel for the petitioner submits that, election for post of Sarpanch of Gram Panchayat Rui, Tq. Ambad is conducted today at 2.00 p.m. The learned counsel further submits that, the petitioner would file proper proceeding before the Collector U/Sec. 16 of the Maharashtra Village Panchayat Act. The Collector be directed to decide the said proceeding expeditiously and preferably within the time frame as provided under the said Act.

The petitioner may file the proceeding in accordance with law before the appropriate authority. The appropriate authority shall consider the proceeding filed by the petitioner and decide the same on its own merits, in accordance with law, after following the principles of natural justice, expeditiously and

In the light of the above, the writ petition is disposed of. No costs.
