1] This petition can be disposed of with a direction to the respondent no.3 or any other officer of the Revenue Department of the rank of Sub Divisional Officer appointed by the Collector to deal with the application u/s 28-A of the Land Acquisition Act to decide the same in accordance with provisions of law and after extending an opportunity of hearing to all the parties, as

WP 2272/16 - 2 - expeditiously as possible and preferably within a period of six months from today, and it is accordingly directed. On re-determination of the amount of compensation, if the petitioners are held entitled to receive the enhanced amount, the respondent no.2 shall pay the amount to the petitioners so determined in accordance with the decision by the Land Acquisition Officer / Sub Divisional Officer, as expeditiously as possible and preferably within a period of six months from the date of such determination. 2] With the directions as above, the writ petition stands disposed of.
