We have heard both the sides.

The petitioners' land was acquired by direct purchase. A registered sale deed has been executed. They are now claiming interest under Section 80 of the Right to Fair Compensation and Transparency in Land Acquisition, Rehabilitation and Resettlement Act, 2013 (for short, "the Act").

903_WP_6628_2025 Learned Advocate for petitioners, on instructions, submits that petitioners would be satisfied if a direction is given to Collector to take some decision on their applications dated 19.07.2023, 20.06.2024 and 29.10.2024. Without expressing anything on merits regarding entitlement of petitioners to seek any benefit under Section 80 of the Act, we dispose of writ petition by directiong respondent - Collector to take appropriate decision as expeditiously as possible and in any case within 12 weeks.
