ORAL ORDER :

By this Contempt Petition, the petitioner has sought to punish the respondents under the Contempt of Courts Act for disobedience of the judgment and award dated 29 June 2010 passed by this Court in First Appeal No. 56 of 1994. 2.

The First Appeal filed by the contempt petitioner against the judgment and award passed by the learned Civil Judge (Senior Division), Shrirampur, was allowed and the compensation granted by the learned Civil Judge was enhanced. The petitioner has invoked the Contempt Jurisdiction on the ground that the amount is not paid.

The Contempt Jurisdiction is invoked to uphold the majesty of the Court. The petitioner has not even filed an execution proceeding and straightway has sought to punish the Collector for contempt by joining him by name as a party respondent. 4.

The learned Assistant Government Pleader states that he will inform the concerned officers to explore whether it is possible to give any early relief to the petitioner, of course within the ambit of law.
