This petition can be disposed of by granting liberty to the petitioner to move the Vice Chancellor with appropriate representation / appeal as contemplated by section 14(6) of the Maharashtra Universities Act. If petitioner tenders appropriate representation / appeal within a period of four weeks from today, the Vice Chancellor shall take appropriate decision in accordance with provisions of section 14(6) of the Act and ensure reconsideration of the resolution, by appropriate board or university authority, if he deems appropriate. The Vice Chancellor shall take decision considering the merits of the claim of petitioner as expeditiously as possible preferably within a period of four weeks from the date of receipt of representation / appeal.

With the directions as above, writ petition stands disposed of. It is
wp2035.15.doc clarified that we have not expressed any opinion as regards merits of the contentions raised by petitioner in the instant petition and, it is open for the Vice Chancellor to take appropriate decision in accordance with provisions of law, regulations and relevant statute.
