The grievance of the Petitioners is that the possession of their land was taken in 2005. The acquired land was used for the purpose of minor irrigation project at Village Deogaon Rangari, Tq. Kannad. Compensation has not been paid. The provisions of the Right to Fair Compensation and Transparency in Land Acquisition, Rehabilitation and Resettlement Act, 2013, would be applicable and the date to be taken into account for calculating the price of land, is 01.01.2014. A detailed representation dated 06.12.2023 is pending with the District Collector, Respondent No. 5.

In view of the above, this Writ Petition is disposed off with the direction to the Respondent No.5 to deal with the representation of the Petitioners dated 06.12.2023, on it's own merits, by following the due procedure laid down in law and communicate a decision to the Petitioners within 90 days from today.
