The petitioner is issued with the caste certificate in Form C. The petitioner requires caste certificate in the Central Government format. The petitioner applied for issuance of caste certificate in Central Government format. Same is rejected on the ground that the petitioner has not produced the document prior to 1950 substantiating his caste as Tokre Koli. 2.

As the petitioner is already issued with the caste certificate by the Sub Divisional Officer of Tokre Koli, the Sub Divisional Officer is only required to verify as to whether earlier caste certificate is issued by his office and if same is issued by his office, then only ministerial act of issuing caste certificate in the Central Government format has to be performed.

In the light of the above, the impugned order is quashed and set aside. The Sub Divisional Officer, Degloor shall verify as to whether earlier caste certificate is issued by him and if he satisfies that same is issued by his office, then shall issue the caste certificate in Central Government format to the petitioner. 4.

In view of the above the writ petition is disposed of. No costs.
