The present writ petition has been filed for directing respondent No.2 to decide the application of the petitioner for premature release which is pending since 25.01.2024, within a period of four weeks in terms of the Government Resolution dated 02.08.2004.

Learned A.P.P., upon oral instructions from respondent No.2, after waiving notice for all respondents, makes a statement that the said application would be decided within a period of three months.

Since the application is pending since 25.01.2024 and there is Government Resolution dated 02.08.20024, para 14 of which

crwp210.25 -2states that the procedure for premature release should be started one year and three months prior to the date on which the convict would be completing 14 years, so that the concrete proposal would be received by the Government, a year prior to completion of 14 years to enable the Government can take appropriate decision. Then it is stated that the petitioner has already undergone around 15 years of imprisonment and therefore, we dispose of the writ petition by directing respondent No.2 to decide the application dated 25.01.2024 for premature release of the petitioner on or before 09.04.2025.
