PER COURT :

The petitioner is seeking correction of his SSC certificate to the extent of name of his mother. Pertinently, even in his HSC certificate there was an error in mentioning the correct name of the mother which has been subsequently corrected with the approval of the Deputy Director of Education. Only the error in the SSC certificate has remained to be corrected.

Pursuant to the order passed on the previous date, the petitioner's father has filed an affidavit. It is taken on record. He has annexed with the affidavit, a copy of his marriage invitation card mentioning the name of the bride as 'Nanda'. Similar correction has

WP 2582-2023 been permitted to be carried out in HSC Certificate issued by the respondent Board.

We allow the writ petition. We direct respondent Education Officer (Secondary), Zilla Parishad, Aurangabad to take appropriate decision on the petitioner's proposal dated 30/01/2023 (Exhibit 'D') as expeditiously as possible, and in any case, within a period of three weeks.

On such decision being taken, a proposal be forwarded to the respondent Board within one week, and thereafter, the Board shall take appropriate steps for correction of the record within three weeks thereafter.
