PER COURT:- 1.

The learned counsel submits that petitioners have issued notices to the Collector for payment of rental compensation on 25.10.2018, however, rental compensation is not paid.

We have heard learned A.G.P. for respondents.

In fact, petitioners have to make an application to the Special Land Acquisition Officer. The Special Land Acquisition Officer has to hear petitioners as well as the State and the Acquiring Body before passing order.

The petitioners may file an application before the Special Land Acquisition Officer for grant of rental compensation as may be permissible.

(2) 920-wp-345-2020 In case, such an application is filed, the Special Land Acquisition Officer shall decide the said application on its own merits, after hearing petitioners, Acquiring Body, State and the interested parties, expeditiously and preferably within a period of nine (09) months from the date of application.

Writ petition is disposed of. No costs.
