Learned counsel for the petitioner submits that the proposal for seeking externment as well as the show cause notice issued to the petitioner by the Sub-Divisional Magistrate, dated 28.8.2006 was impugned before this Court.

This Court, after considering the merits of the matter, granted interim relief vide order dated 16.4.2007.

In view of the fact that further proceedings pursuant to the show cause notice were stayed, the proposal itself would become infructuous in view of efflux of time, and hence, prayer in the petition has become redundant.

In view of this, the petition stands disposed of.

Rule is discharged.
