By the impugned order, respondent No.4/Education Officer (Primary) has refused to exercise the powers under Clause 26.4 of the Secondary School Code for correction of the petitioner's school record only on the ground that he is no longer studying in the school. 2.

We have heard the learned advocate for the petitioner, learned A.G.P. and learned advocate Mr Bondar, who appears suo moto for respondent No.4/Education Officer (Primary).

The writ petition is disposed of directing respondent No.4 to reconsider the proposal of the petitioner on its own merits and in the light of the observations and the conclusions drawn in the matter of Janabai Himmatrao Thakur vs. The State of Maharashtra and others, 2019(6) Mh.L.J. 769 (FB), as expeditiously as possible and in any case within eight weeks.
