Present appeal has been fled by original informant prosecutrix.

The matter is listed on board in view of the oral directions given by this Court, after it was noticed that in the appeal memos in certain matters the name of the victim has been stated. It will not be out of place to mention here that Section 228-A of the Indian Penal Code was inserted in the Indian Penal Code with efect from 25-12-1983, which prohibits disclosure of identity of the victim of certain ofences. Section 376 was originally there in Section 228-A of the Indian Penal Code, but later on certain more Sections came to be added with efect from 03-02-2013 and 21-04-2018.

{2} CRI APPEAL 854 OF 2019 3.

Perusal of the appeal memo shows that the appeal has been admitted on 16-08-2019 and action under Section 390 of the Code of Criminal Procedure was directed to be taken. Accordingly, it appears that accused has furnished bail. 4.

The matter was taken on board for limited purpose when it was found that the name of the victim ought not to have been disclosed in the appeal memo. We, therefore, direct the learned Advocate for the appellant to mask the name of the victim wherever it is appearing in the appeal memo, synopsis etc. 5.

Matter to come up as per its turn.
