Mr. Girase, learned counsel for the petitioners submits that the proposals for bifurcation of the Grampanchayats has been forwarded by the Grampanchayats. Thereafter, the B.D.O. has forwarded the said proposal to the Chief Executive Officer. The Chief Executive Officer of the Zilla Parishad forwarded the same to the Divisional Commissioner, Nashik with his recommendation. The Divisional Commissioner,

Nashik in turn forwarded the same to the Additional Chief Secretary, Rural Development Department, Mumbai in September, 2020, the same is pending. The elections would be due in July, 2021. The learned counsel submits that respondent Nos.1 and 2 be directed to take decision upon it within a period of two months. 3.

Learned A.G.P. accepts notice for respondent Nos. 1 to 4. 4.

In case, the proposal for bifurcation of the Grampanchayats as claimed are forwarded by the Divisional Commissioner and is pending with respondent No.2, then respondent Nos. 1 and 2 shall take decision upon it as per the procedure contemplated under the provisions of the Maharashtra Village Panchayat Act expeditiously and preferably within three (03) months from today. 5.
