The Petitioner is a 56 years lady, who is presently working as Lab Technician with the Government Medical College at Aurangabad. Her contention is that her father passed away on 28.08.2012. Thereafter, the Petitioner claims to have opened a bag belonging to her father and noticed a birth certificate dated 12.10.1993, wherein the date of birth of the Petitioner is mentioned as 07.07.1967. On perusal of the said certificate, we find that the name of the child written on the certificate is in a different handwriting. Moreover, the date of birth 07.07.1967 is mentioned and date of registration of the birth is 12.10.1993, 26 years later. 2.

It is undisputed that the date of birth of an in-service candidate, can be altered within five years of the date of joining

4683.2023WP -2employment. The Petitioner has joined employment on 16th August, 1997. The change is now sought after 26 years of joining employment.

In such circumstances and more so when the Petitioner has just two years left for retirement, we do not find it appropriate to entertain this petition. The same is, therefore, dismissed. (SANJAY A. DESHMUKH, J.) (RAVINDRA V. GHUGE , J.) sga/
