The Petitioner has completed his B.Sc. in 2019. The Petitioner has tendered a representation dated 14.12.2022 to the District Education Officer (Secondary), Zilla Parishad, Aurangabad, praying that, though the school record from the 1st Standard onwards indicates his social status as '

Kunabi', he desires that the entire records be changed and he may be shown as 'Maratha' instead of 'Kunabi'.

We would not issue directions to the Respondent Authorities to change the record. We would only direct Respondent No.2 to consider the representation of the Petitioner on the basis of the record available and arrive at a decision as is deemed fit and proper, strictly on the basis of the record. 1/2

We make it clear that we have not expressed any opinion about the merits of the claim of the Petitioner.
