According to the petitioner, entire retiral benefits are not paid. It is not disputed that some retiral benefits are paid. The chart is given at page no. 12 - Exh.-B by respondent No. 2 / the Municipal Council, Purna, showing the amount outstanding to be paid to the petitioner. The learned counsel submits that the amount, as shown, is outstanding. 2.

The reason put forth by the Municipal Council is of financial stringency.

It is trite that retiral benefits are not bounty but hard-earned income of a retired employees. The respondents shall endeavour to pay

2 1p-WP4869-19.odt the amount remaining outstanding towards retiral benefits to the petitioner, expeditiously and preferably, within a period of six months along with interest at the rate of 6% per annum. 4.
