The Petitioner is the owner of agricultural lands situate in village Nitrud, Taluka - Majalgaon, District - Beed. The possession of the land belonging to the Petitioner was taken for construction of village tank on 15.02.2007, by private negotiation. The grievance of the Petitioner is that till today, the compensation has not been paid to him. The Petitioner, in the aforesaid factual background, seeks a Writ of Mandamus, to the Respondents to conclude the proceedings initiated under the Right to Fair Compensation and Transparency in Land Acquisition, Rehabilitation and Resettlement Act, 2013 ('2013 Act'), in a time bound manner.

The learned counsel for the Petitioner, on instructions, submits that the process under the 2013 Act, has already been initiated.

Taking into account the fact that the possession of the land of the Petitioner was taken from him on 15.02.2007 and the right of Petitioner guaranteed to him under Article 300A of the Constitution of India, has been violated, we direct the Competent Authority under the 2013 Act, to conclude the proceedings initiated for determination of the compensation, within the outer limit of four (4) months from today.

Needless to state that after determination of the amount of compensation, the same shall be paid to the Petitioner within a further period of two (2) months thereof. 5.
