(a) Validation proceedings in respect of the tribe claim of the petitioner is pending with the Committee. The learned counsel for the petitioner submits that the respondent Committee be directed to decide the same expeditiously.

(b) Mr. Patil, the learned counsel for the Committee states that it would take sometime to decide the said validation proceedings. We have heard the learned A. G. P. also.

Considering the above we pass the following order: (a)The respondent No.2 Committee shall decide the validation proceedings in respect of the tribe claim of the petitioner as belonging to "Thakur" Scheduled Tribe, expeditiously, preferably within six months on its own merits. The petitioner shall co-operate in expeditious disposal of the said proceedings. 1/2

909wp (b) The respondent college shall not take any coercive steps against the petitioner only on the ground that his validation proceedings are pending. The respondents may take further course of action in tune with the judgment of the Committee in the validation proceedings.

(c) Writ petition is disposed of. No costs.
