The petitioners seek caste certifcate in the Central Government format.

It is the contention of the petitioners that the petitioners are already issued with the caste certifcate in the State Government format. The subsequent application made for issuance of caste certifcate in the Central Government format is rejected probably on the ground that evidence is not submitted. 3.

According to the petitioners, the cousin uncle of the petitioners is issued with the validity certifcate. 4.

We have heard the learned Assistant Government Pleader also.

At the time of issuance of caste certifcate, it is not necessary that the applicant should submit the documents/evidence prior to the year 1950. The authority has to be prima facie satisfed. The authority on its satisfaction had issued the caste certifcate to the petitioner in the State Government format. The petitioners are only seeking the caste certifcate in Central Government format.

In light of that, it was not necessary for them to produce all the relevant documents if earlier the caste certifcate is issued to them.

The Sub Divisional Ofcer shall verify the genuineness of the caste certifcate issued to the petitioners in the State Government format and if it is satisfed that the caste certifcate is issued to the petitioners in the State Government format, then shall issue the caste certifcate in the Central Government format. The said exercise shall be done within a period of four weeks from today.

The writ petition is disposed of. No costs.
