The petitioner seeks appointment on compassionate ground. Mr. Rudrawar, the learned counsel submits that, the petitioner had moved the Industrial Court and subsequently had also approached the authorities concerned and in that period the time was lost. Father of the petitioner died in the year 1997. The learned counsel submits that, considering the scheme, the petitioner is entitled for appointment on compassionate ground. 2.

We have also heard the learned Assistant Government Pleader for respondent No. 1.

The Apex Court in Civil Appeal No. 1385 of 2017 has observed that, it is well settled that application for compassionate appointment cannot be kept pending for indefinite period and if no vacancy is available within a reasonable time, the claim cannot be thereafter entertained. In that case before the Apex Court, compassionate appointment was sought on account of death of father of the petitioner therein, who died on 20th May, 2000.

Considering the above, the grievance of the petitioner cannot be considered. The writ petition as such is dismissed. No costs.
