All along the Petitioner's date of birth is mentioned in the records as "8th February, 1969". Now a birth certificate is placed before us, which is acquired on 15th September, 2021 purportedly registered on 29th April, 1970, claiming that the Petitioner was born on "29th April, 1970". The Petitioner is in employment as a Junior Clerk and apparently desires to change her date of birth from 8th February, 1969 to 29th April, 1970.

The learned AGP rightly submits that any change in the date of birth, beyond 5 years after entering employment, is prohibited and is unsustainable. The Petitioner has 4 years for retirement in 2027. At this stage, the entire records are sought to be modified by seeking a correction in the date of birth to 29th April, 1970.

In view of the above, we do not deem it appropriate to exercise our Writ jurisdiction in such matter. This Petition is, therefore, dismissed.
