All along the Petitioner's date of birth is mentioned in the records as "3rd March, 1966". Now a birth certificate is placed before us, which is acquired on 6th August, 2021 purportedly registered on 27th May, 1968, claiming that the Petitioner was born on "25th May, 1968". The Petitioner is in employment as a Junior Clerk and apparently desires to change his date of birth from 3rd March, 1966 to 25th May, 1968.

The learned AGP rightly submits that any change in the date of birth, beyond 5 years after entering employment, is prohibited and is unsustainable. The Petitioner has 1 year for retirement in 2024. At this stage, the entire records are sought to be modified by seeking a correction in the date of birth to 25th May, 1968.

In view of the above, we do not deem it appropriate to exercise our Writ jurisdiction in such matter. This Petition is, therefore, dismissed.
