The Petitioners are keen that their complaint under Section 39 of the Maharashtra Village Panchayat Act, be expeditiously dealt with.

The learned Advocate appearing on behalf of Zilla Parishad submits that the CEO has already received an order from the Divisional Commissioner for tendering a report in the matter. The CEO is presently at Mussoorie for training and would be resuming duties on 01st April, 2024. As such, he submits that the report would be prepared by following the due procedure laid down in law and would be tendered to the Divisional

We direct that thereafter, the Divisional Commissioner would make an endeavor to complete the proceedings as expeditiously as possible and preferably within a further period of 45 days from the date of receipt of the report, by following due procedure laid down in law.

In view of the above, this Writ Petition is disposed off.
