DATE :- 02nd August, 2018 Per Court:
I have heard the learned Advocates for the respective sides and with their assistance, I have gone through the petition paper book. The Honourable Supreme Court, by it's order dated 20.11.2017, has disposed of the petition filed by these Petitioners and has enhanced the compensation by Rs.1,50,000/- each, in addition to the amount of Rs.1 lac that was granted by this Court. By the further order dated 13.03.2018 on the review petition filed by the Management, the Honourable Supreme Court granted time of three months from 13.03.2018 to the Management to make the payment of the said compensation amounts.
*2* 908cp226o18 This Contempt Petition has been filed within seven days from the date of the order of the Honourable Supreme when the Management was granted time till 13.06.2018 to make the payments. The learned Advocate for the Management submits that the said compensation amounts were sought to be paid to these Petitioners through the Advocate for the Management on 23.06.2018. However, these Petitioners have refused to accept the said amounts and the envelopes were returned to the said Advocate. Two demand drafts in the name of the learned Registrar of this Court dated 25.06.2018 for an amount of Rs.2,50,000/- each are tendered as payment of compensation to these Petitioners.
Considering the above, this Contempt Petition is disposed of. The Registry shall accept both these demand drafts. The Petitioners are at liberty to withdraw the amount of Rs.2,50,000/- each from this Court by following the usual procedure. Recent photographs of both these Petitioners along with the photocopies of their election voter identity cards shall also be placed on record while withdrawing the said amounts.
