The petitioners contend that they have deposited the amount as required under the provisions of Maharashtra Inferior Village Vatan Abolition Act and are entitled for re-grant and proceedings in that respect have been initiated under the provisions of Section 5 of the Act of 1959 with the Collector, Ahmednagar. The petitioners contend that application/ representation tendered by the petitioners to the Collector for regrant of land and for deleting certain entries is pending for consideration.

Without going into the merits of the contentions raised in the petition, the respondent - Collector, Ahmednagar is directed to decide the application/representation tendered by the petitioners for re-grant of Vatan land as expeditiously as possible
