The petitioners are challenging the proceedings bearing S.C.C. No.199/2017 pending in the Court of learned JMFC, Akkalkuwa, District Nandurbar, for offences punishable under Section 29 of the Insecticide Act r/w Section 34 of the Indian Penal Code.

The proceedings are initiated in 2017 and the process was issued in 2019. There is no averment as to when the petitioners are served with notice. There is no explanation about delay. In that view of the matter, I am not inclined to entertain this petition on the ground of delay and laches.

This Criminal Writ Petition is disposed of.

However, looking to the fact that the case is pending since 2017, the Trial Court is requested to expedite trial and complete it as early as possible and preferably within six months. kps ( SUSHIL M. GHODESWAR, J. )
