The petitioner is before us being aggrieved by the fact that in spite of he having lodged a proceeding under Section 44(E) of the Maharashtra Municipal Councils, Nagar Panchayats and Industrial Townships Act, 1965 on 09.10.2024, the respondent no.2/Collector is sitting tight and not even notice has been issued.

We have heard the learned advocate for the petitioner as also the learned AGP.

The writ petition is disposed of with a direction to the respondent no.2 to expedite the hearing of the proceeding preferred by the petitioner under Section 44(E) of the Act as expeditiously as possible and in any case within four months.
