While the petitioner contends that his land has been taken into possession for canal long back years before, however, as yet no land acquisition proceedings have been initiated, as such the mandamus has been sought in the writ petition to acquire the land pursuant to the Right to Fair Compensation and

wp3723.18 Transparency in Land Acquisition, Rehabilitation and Resettlement Act, 2013.

Respondents have responded to the writ petition and learned counsel for respondent No.4 refers to a communication dated 28th August 2019 in respect of petitioner's land survey/gut No. 61 situated at Jakhmatha, Taluka-Gangapur, DistrictAurangabad and submits that intervening Covid-19 pandemic has hampered acquisition proceedings.

In view of aforesaid, it would be expedient and proper that land acquisition proceedings pursuant to the Right to Fair Compensation and Transparency in Land Acquisition, Rehabilitation and Resettlement Act, 2013 are undertaken and carried to logical end by 30th September 2021, including passing of award and payment of compensation.
