Petitioners are praying for issuance of directions to respondents to take decision on the appeals presented by them within specified time. Request is also made for issuance of writ or order for quashment of the process of election for filling up the vacancy occurred on account of disqualification of respective petitioners.

Learned AGP for the State, on instructions, informs that the appeals presented by petitioners 3 to 12 and 19 to 25 have already been decided and those appeals have been dismissed. A statement is made on behalf of respondent no. 1 by the learned AGP that the appeals presented by petitioners 1, 2 and 13 to 18 will be decided within a period of one week from today.

The process of election initiated for filling up the vacancy occurred on account of order of disqualification issued against petitioners need not be stalled as mere presentation of appeal by respective petitioners does not amount to stay of the orders impunged therein.
