We have heard P. B. Mr.Patil- learned counsel for the petitioner and Mr. P. S.Patil, learned Additional Government Pleader. 2.

According to the learned counsel for the petitioner, the State is insisting for using Bio-metric. Covid-19 pandemic is still continuing. There is danger of spreading Covid-19 virus because of the use of bio-metric. The Central Government has relaxed the condition of bio-metric attendance to stop spread of Covid-19 virus. Similar decisions are taken by different departments of the Central Government, in various States also. However, in the State of Maharashtra, the State is insisting for using bio-metric and taking thumb impressionism of the beneficiaries. The same would not be a sound policy at the time of Covid-19 pandemic. 3.

The learned Addl. G.P. submits that the State Government has extended the exemption from use of bio-metric upto 31st July, 2020. The State has to take a decision considering the Epidemic and Disaster Management Act.

The petitioner certainly ought to comply with the directions of the State Government and follow the norms prescribed therein. It can implement the use of bio-metric by adhering to the norms such as social distancing, sanitation and mask.

In light of above, it does not appear that any right of the parties are violated. Writ petition is accordingly disposed of. No costs. 6.

In view of disposal of the writ petition, civil application also stands disposed of.
