Admittedly, the application filed by the petitioner for correction in the date of birth was not within five years from the date of joining service. Even if the Education Officer possesses the power to consider the prayer for correction of inadvertant mistake that may have crept in the record of the school, and even if the student has left the school, however, in the facts and circumstances of this case, the Education Officer has given reasons in the reply, under reference to him.
