The Petitioner is a Project Affected Person. His grand father Kashinath owned land bearing Gat No.2/1 admeasuring 63R at Varangaon, which was acquired by the Water Supply Department, sometime in the year 1973. According to the Petitioner, a scheme was introduced by the State of Maharashtra for the Project Affected Persons in 1999 under the provisions of the Maharashtra Project Affected Persons Rehabilitation act, 1999. According to the Petitioner, the grand father of the Petitioner was not extended the facility of employment since no recruitment process was undertaken. The Petitioner is an khs/Jan.2024/15394

- 2 - unemployed person who aspires for employment if the Zilla Parishad initiates steps for recruitment.

In view of the above, this Petition is disposed off. Let the Zilla Parishad consider the request of the Petitioner and in the event of the posts being available and if the Petitioner has any existing right, the process for recruitment to the vacancies may be initiated by strictly following the due procedure laid down in Law and by considering the policies of the State Government, within a period of 6 (six) months.
