The prayers in this PIL petition read as follows : "A] To direct respondents to direct the respondents to Quarantine the Jail inmates who had been infected by COVID19, so as to stop its wide spread, and, or, B] To direct the respondents to regularly screen the jail inmates so as to detect COVID-19, and,or, C] To direct the Respondents to maintain hygiene in jail, viz by providing soaps etc., and or, D] To direct the Respondents to release of undertrials l(Not accused of Serious offence) on bail or otherwise for temporary period, and or release of oldage convict (who had undergone 3/4 of their sentence) on bail or otherwise for temporary period, Civil Prisoners, Vulnerable class of inmates suffering khs/Jan.2021/5
- 2 - from diseases like diabetes, hypertension, Cardiovascular Diseases, Respiratory diseases etc, and, or," 2.
The learned Government Pleader appearing for the respondents, by referring to a judgment dated 02/07/2020 delivered by this Court in PIL No.2/2020, submits that the concern expressed by the petitioner has been taken care of and that nothing further survives for decision by this Bench.

We have also been referred to another bench judgment dated 24/07/2020 in Criminal PIL No.7/2020, wherein appropriate directions were issued to take care of under trials/convicts lodged in Correctional Homes and ways and means were suggested for proper treatment of such correctional home inmates, who might have tested positive for Covid-19.

The purpose for which this PIL petition was instituted has been served and, therefore, we find no reason to keep it pending, hence it stands disposed of. There shall be no order as to costs. ( RAVINDRA V. GHUGE, J. ) ( CHIEF JUSTICE ) khs/Jan.2021/5
