The petitioner who is respondent no.1 in the appeal preferred by the respondent no.8 herein pending before the learned Minister under Section 39(3) of the Maharashtra Village Panchayat Act is anxious to have an early decision.

The learned advocate for the petitioner submits that he is the original complainant and though the respondent no.8 has been disqualified the operation of the order passed by the Divisional Commissioner has been stayed by the learned Minister on 15.10.2024 and no further steps/initiative have been taken for deciding the appeal thereby the disqualified candidate has continued to exercise its powers as Sarpanch.

The learned AGP submits that reasonable time be granted for deciding the appeal.

The writ petition is disposed of with a request to the respondent no.2 learned Minister to decide the appeal as expeditiously as possible and in any case within three months.
