This Public Interest Litigation was registered under the order of this Court dated 05.06.2020. It was brought to the notice of this Court that the cotton of the farmers brought to the Centre, is not being purchased from the farmers. Time to time, this Court, passed the orders and lastly the order came to be passed on 19.06.2020. 2.

We have directed the C. C. I. and Federation to take effective steps for expeditious purchase of the cotton from the agriculturists.

2 100-pil-31-2020.doc We have recorded the affidavit filed by respondent No.3, stating that the continuous process has begun for purchase of the cotton and every effort is done to see that the cotton of the farmers is purchased as early as possible. We have also recorded, pursuant to the affidavit of respondent No.3 that 30th September, 2020 is the outer limit. 3.

Mr. Shelke, learned Advocate submits that in eight districts the procurement of the cotton is stopped as the cotton brought by the farmers is purchased. In seven districts it will come to an end within one week or two weeks and in remaining districts the process of purchase would be completed by 15.08.2020.

Considering the above, it appears that the purpose of the PIL stands served. The PIL accordingly stands disposed of. No costs. 5.

In view of disposal of the PIL, the civil application also stands disposed of.
