Heard the learned advocate for the petitioner. 2.

The petitioner is aggrieved by the cut off date fixed by the Maharashtra Public Service Commission (MPSC) for applying age criteria for appearing at the examination which he claims to have been suddenly changed to 1st July. His allegation is that due to such change he would now not be eligible to appear at the examination and is challenging the relevant Clause No.7.2.1 of the Advertisement No.12/2025 dated 18.03.2025.

As is evident from the averments in the petition and as is the tenor of the submission of the learned advocate, the grievance being put forth by the petitioner is only in respect of such change in the cut off date for determining and applying age criteria.

There is nothing in the petition attributing mala fides on the part of the MPSC in providing the cut off date. If it is a matter of recruitment and a cut off date is to be provided for the eligibility on the ground of age, there would be several beneficiaries as well as sufferers if the date is changed.

Merely because there is some change in the cut off date which hitherto was being prescribed as 1st of April, this Court in exercise of the limited jurisdiction under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, cannot cause any interference in such administrative decisions. 6.

The writ petition is dismissed.
